Data source: the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), approved building permit records. KlaroFlow does not collect these figures. We organise, chart and explain what the agencies publish.

Explore approved building permits across Cebu

Approved building permits for Cebu’s 53 cities and municipalities, with the province series reported separately from Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue cities: how many permits, how much floor area, the declared value and the type of construction, from PSA’s records. A permit means construction was authorised, not that it started or finished.

Dataset Approved building permits: Cebu’s 53 cities and municipalities, yearly (PSA, from local building officials) Annual records shown: 2006–2024. 2024 is the latest year in this dataset, not necessarily PSA’s latest release.

Construction statistics from approved building permits

PSA OpenSTAT tables 0012G4CBPC0 (2006–2021) and 0022G4GBPC1 (2022–2024), compiled from the building permits approved by city and municipal building officials and submitted to PSA. Number of permits, floor area in square metres and value in thousand pesos, by type of construction, for every city and municipality. The source tables give value in thousand pesos; this page multiplies by 1,000 to show it in pesos.

What a permit does and does not say

An approved permit means construction was authorised, not that it was built or finished. The value is the cost declared by the applicant on the permit, in the pesos of that year, so values across years also carry inflation. Submissions from local offices can arrive late. Figures may change as offices submit or correct records.

Places and types

Cebu Province here is PSA’s province series without the three highly urbanized cities, which are reported separately. In some years, the published place totals do not match the province series. The reason has not yet been verified. Floor area is not published for alterations and repairs or for other constructions. The 2006–2021 tables list demolitions and street furniture as their own types; the 2022–2024 tables list other constructions. Both are shown here as Other, so that row is not comparable across 2021 and 2022.

What the figures can and cannot say

They show where and how much construction was authorised, and of what kind. They do not show demand, prices, completed projects or public infrastructure, which is permitted and funded differently. Extracted through the PSA OpenSTAT API on .
